A village of 2,000 inhabitants, languishing in a beautiful setting (GPS position: S 22° 06.131' E 043° 14.354'), with unexpected services, including a high-quality hospital run by Italian volunteers. The NGO Blue Ventures, which works to protect the island's flora and fauna, has set up its HQ here, offering English classes for children. On the offshore island of Nosy Hao, a hotel complex was due to be built in 2015. The project was demolished. In the meantime, it has enabled Andavadoaka to benefit from solar electricity and even 3G: unthinkable just a few years earlier. Beautiful beaches and a Far West atmosphere.
