The best accommodations Parc National Du Niokolo Koba

Nestled in the heart of the Niokolo Koba Park, this hotel, which had been abandoned for a few years, was taken over by the owners of the Oasis Oriental Club hotel in Tamba. It was in the process of being rehabilitated at the time of our visit, and about twenty comfortable rooms and huts were already operational. It is located on the banks of the Gambia River from where dugout canoe trips are organized. Birdwatching enthusiasts will be pleased with a viewpoint overlooking a waterhole frequented by many species of birds, about 200 meters from the hotel.

Located a little further east of Simenti, in Bafoulabe, on the banks of the river. The site has been taken over by the G.I.E. des Guides du Niokolo Koba and is managed by Abdoulaye Kante, a tourist guide. The camp is gradually being renovated and now boasts solar power. The ventilated huts, built from local materials, are simple and equipped with mosquito nets. You're in the perfect place to observe the animals and, if you're lucky, maybe the lions. The welcome is very friendly, the meals are copious and the staff are extremely helpful.
