BAKADADJI
This village of around 130 souls, founded in the 17th century, is well worth a visit. It's the only one in Senegal to be tolerated in a national park. The decree gives Bakadadji a very special status, which the village teacher will tell you all about. Supported by the Sine-Saloum association for several years, it now boasts a school, an ecotourism camp, a market garden and a host of projects.
