Boukoko is a small village that has been enormously modernised at the time of the advent of the self-proclaimed emperor: beautiful and spacious houses have led to the reception of the engineers; the most successful, stone, were reserved for teachers. About kilometres after Boukoko, at the barrier level, the imposing red brick house - currently the headquarters of Customs - was the secondary residence of Bokassa.
