A site in the northern part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve featuring the most prominent landscapes of the Kalahari Game Reserve.
Made famous by the best-selling Cry of the Kalahari by Marc and Delia Owens, who conducted wildlife research there from 1974 to 1981. About 80 km long, it is the most visited place for the openness of its landscapes and the great concentration of fauna. Located to the north of the Central Kalahari Reserve, it presents the most striking landscapes of the reserve. However, lovers of the Kalahari will not be able to avoid going deeper into the heart of the reserve and, why not, crossing it from north to south to the Khutse Game Reserve.

Déception valley, ce sont des concessions privées, donc c'est l'un des rares endroits où il est possible de faire des safaris de nuit et sortir des chemins. Les 2 ont leurs intérêts. Par exemple, les lièvres sauteurs, je n'en ai vu que la nuit, idem pour la faune nocturne, notamment les chouettes, etc...
Notre lodge, en grande partie en bois, au milieu de rien, vibrait au son du rugissement des lions.
Une journée à la découverte des traditions, de la vie et de la façon de vivre des sans. Un instant intense et mémorable.
