At the crossroads of the Francistown-Maun and Francistown-Kasane roads, Nata is a real crossroads town of about 7,000 inhabitants. Convenient for a quick stop on the road, as there are gas stations and fast food outlets. There is also a lodge, a camping site, guest houses as well as a garage and a supermarket. Apart from its position as a potential starting point for visiting the pans, Nata's major interest lies in its Bird Sanctuary. During the rainy season, the area becomes a refuge for many waterfowl. From Maun, Kasane and Francistown, Nata is easily accessible by paved roads.
