Read moreThe L.M. Montgomery Cavendish National Historic Site includes the site of Lucy Maud Montgomery's home where she wrote Anne of Green Gables, among other works. This house is in fact the farm of her maternal grandparents. Only ruins remain today, but this is the site of the Haunted Forest Trail, the Balsam Hollow Trail, and the Lovers' Path, all of which are extensively documented in Anne's novels.
