Historic fort on the Chignecto Isthmus with a superb view of the Cumberland Basin.

This fort, of which only a few casemates and grassy embankments remain, offers a superb view of the Cumberland Basin. It is across the river, on the left bank of the Missaguash, that the Acadians settled, reclaiming the land with their swamp-draining techniques. The fort reflects the conflicts that occurred in the 18th century between France and Great Britain, and the ensuing struggle between America and Great Britain for control of the continent.

Belle découverte
Très belle découverte, nous avons été surpris car même s’il s’agit principalement de ruines, il y a plusieurs endroit à visiter et petits recoins.
Nous avons fait la visite interactive avec une tablette et cela apporte vraiment une plus valeur au site et rend la visite amusante.
Le site est très bien entretenu.
