The Sleeping Giant hike, also known as the Nanny Trail, is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. This giant dominates the east coast and offers a spectacular view of the Wailua River. There are two trails to reach the top: the East side trail (from Haleilio Road in Kapaa) and the West side trail (from Lokeliani Road in Wailua Homestead). We recommend the West side which is slightly longer but less steep and more shaded.
