There are several hiking trails that lead to the Sleeping Giant, a mountain named for its giant shape.
Several hiking trails lead to the Sleeping Giant, a mountain named for its giant shape. The easiest trail is the one that starts from Haleilio Road, at the second traffic light on the left from the Wailua River going north, nicknamed the "nanny trail". A short walk through the forest brings you to an open summit where you can see the waterfront to the east and the mountain ranges to the west. If you push a few more meters past the sign indicating the end of the hike you will get a 360 degree view.
