Former sugar plantation producing Maui's only wines, housing a cottage with an exhibit on the history of paniolos.

At Ulupakua Ranch & Tedeschi Vineyard, a former sugar plantation, Maui's only wines are produced on over 10,000 acres. The tasting is free. However, the quality of the Californian or European wines is far from being the same, the production being mostly local and anecdotal. Some improbable blends are worth the detour... The most surprising and the most sold is the "Pineapple Wine". In a pretty cottage, near the vineyards, an exhibition recounts the history of Maui cowboys, the famous paniolos.

L'établissement viticole Tedeschi est à visiter car c'est très original de trouver un vignoble dans l'archipel d'Hawaii. Il ne faut pas hésiter à gouter le vin d'ananas !
