HELE-ON BUS

The Hilo/Kailua-Kona line stops at the Parker Ranch Center in Waimea, a huge shopping center, in both directions. It takes about 1 hour to Kona and 1 hour to Hilo. Another Hilo-Waimea line runs between the two cities four times a day. The Kapaau - Kailua Kona line (at the very north of the island) also stops in Waimea (7 stops in the city). Most of the bus stops are difficult to locate because there are no bus shelters, but you can wave to the driver as he passes to make him stop, provided of course that you are on his way.
