This village, more commonly called Kamuela by the locals, contrasts with the rest of the island. It is above all a land of cattle breeding whose development is linked to the mythical Parker Ranch, the main economic engine of Waimea. Waimea is still today a land of agriculture and breeding where you can find many organic farms and where you often meet the famous paniolos (Hawaiian cowboys). The city is worth a day trip, if only to soak up the country atmosphere that is so amazing on the island. You can, for example, go stargazing at Mauna Kea, go back to Waimea to sleep and then visit the town
