The flanks of Puu Loa have no less than 23,000 petroglyphs, the stylized ones representing human figures and canoes
The largest collection of petroglyphs is found on the slopes of Puu Loa. There are no less than 23,000 drawings! A short walk of 15 minutes takes you to discover them from the parking lot. The very stylized petroglyphs represent for the most part human figures and canoes. The interpretation on the meaning of the holes dug next to or on the humans differs from one anthropologist to another, some see the presence of a child, others a count of the size of the group. It is up to you to make your own idea.

Small easy hike (no difference but without any shade) in the national park of the volcanoes, almost at the end of the road of the craters. Many prints in the stones. A sort of " pont" wooden circular was installed for seeing engravings and especially not to damage them going above.
