A magnificent black sand beach where sea turtles come to lay their eggs
On Highway 11 (Hawaii Belt Road), heading north from Naalehu, take the small road on the right between mile markers 56 and 57. It's a 20-minute drive. A beautiful black sand beach, a color due to the erosion of hardened lava, where sea turtles come to lay their eggs, or sometimes just to warm up on the warm sand. This is the perfect opportunity to take great pictures of these turtles if you are lucky enough to see them, while respecting the safety distance of course. Swimming is often difficult.

Belle plage de sable noir mais beaucoup trop de monde.
Pas aperçu une seule tortue, elles doivent sans doute fuir la foule...
Bref, une attraction touristique plus qu'une plage où s'arrêter.
