Cap-Pelé is an excellent vacation spot, with many cultural and recreational activities. It also has a rich Acadian history that is a must-see. The region is known for its fisheries, but there are also a multitude of smokehouses (factories where herring is smoked) and, not surprisingly, the Musée de la Boucanière (Museum of the smokehouse) entirely dedicated to the subject. During the summer season, its magnificent sandy beaches, which are among the most beautiful in the east of the country, including the famous Aboiteau beach, are a favorite place for lazing around and swimming. If you are visiting the region, a stop is a must!
