HISTORIC FORT STOCKTON

This site does not attract many people during the high season. Of the 29 original buildings (the first constructions date back to 1867), only four remain. That's why it's a bit of a disappointment because, once you're there, you've quickly seen everything. The town hall refused to authorize constructions on this large piece of land, so that one can always clearly distinguish the original limits. Sometimes living history re-enactments take place, where locals dress up as characters of the time, with old dresses and military outfits.
