A New Iberia institution, this café has been open since 1969, serving locals and visitors alike hearty breakfasts to start the day. Its breakfast special includes eggs, a choice of meat, grits or potatoes and toast. Other menu options include French toast and omelets. It remains to be seen if the restaurant will eventually reopen for lunch as it did back in the day. For the record, this is where James Lee Burke's fictional character, Detective Dave Robicheaux, comes for his coffee.
