Lake with incredible vegetation and spectacular wildlife at Breaux Bridge
This lake is home to incredible vegetation and spectacular wildlife: you will encounter blue and night herons, barred owls, white ibis and alligators. A few companies offer swamp tours or kayak excursions on this beautiful lake. For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, you should discover the Levee Trail. This 5.4 km long trail allows you to walk around the beautiful Martin Lake. It is an opportunity to observe the local flora and fauna at your own pace.

Forêt inondée du Lac Martin
Le Lac Martin se découvre à pied (si vous n'avez pas de bateau) depuis le sentier qui part de la réserve naturelle de Cypress Island. Le sentier sinue au milieu de forêts inondées fantômatiques et magnifiques (il suit une levée) puis aboutit sur les rives du lac où des centaines de cyprès barbus sortent de l'eau. En fin d'après-midi la lumière du soleil couchant donne un tableau irréel... Accès gratuit
