On the western peninsula of Bartolomé Island, two white sandy coves, surrounded by a translucent sea, stand opposite each other. They are linked by a narrow channel of land at the end of which, like a lighthouse in the bay, sits a large pointed rock, the Pinnacle Rock. (A formation which, according to the locals, was actually formed after a bomb exploded during tests carried out by the Americans during the Second World War.
