Greeted by waiters wearing red T-shirts in the colors of the Swiss nation, you enter the beautiful garden of the Alisamay hotel, where the restaurant has relocated in 2021. Here, you'll savor tasty, typically Swiss dishes. Cheese boards, soups (cream of pumpkin, tomato, etc.), potato pancakes, fondues, cheese raclette... A complete change of scene! You'll also appreciate the friendly, relaxed atmosphere, which can get very lively on evenings and weekends. A popular address!

This cafeteria is crowded every morning for its copious breakfasts (müesli, eggs, fruit pancakes, honeyed yoghurts, home-made breads, good coffee, fresh fruit salad...). In a friendly atmosphere (wooden tables and benches), you choose your formula from the menu written in all languages on the wall. The service is fast. A tip: try the "Special pancake", a giant pancake filled with fresh tropical fruit. You can also buy various breads and cakes here. For late risers, service ends early on Sundays.

The eponymous hotel has a rustic yet elegant restaurant decorated with paintings by renowned Ecuadorian artists. It serves fine European and Ecuadorian cuisine in a beautiful setting (with a view that is worth the trip alone). On site, you will also find the Café del Cielo which offers more than 30 different varieties of coffee, sandwiches, crepes, salads, snacks and cocktails. The view of Tungurahua, the city of Baños and the Llanganates National Park is absolutely spectacular, day and night.

This restaurant, located in the most fashionable street of Baños, inevitably attracts… tourists! The place has no great interest - neither the room, the garden nor the reception stands apart from other establishments - but the food is good and very healthy. Here you can enjoy a good trout with plancha rice and vegetables, or a beautiful, colourful, colourful salad. One of the most expensive in its category, but in the end the prices are reasonable.

This wooden hut is a local fast-food restaurant that sells (take away) different burgers. They are very good, and the queue is proof of that. Veg', chicken, beef... you have the choice. Perfect if you're feeling peckish in the late afternoon after a busy day. On Mondays, the drink is free and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you don't have to pay for the fries if you follow the place on social networks. A new location has opened on Eloy Alfaro Street, where you can enjoy the burgers on the spot.

This Italian restaurant-pizzeria moved into this new location in 2019 and offers excellent Italian food, mostly prepared over a wood fire. The pizza is hands down the best in all of Ecuador! The meat is also very good, and the icing on the cake is a delicious homemade tiramisu waiting for you to end this beautiful culinary experience that we highly recommend. The wine list is not to be outdone and you can accompany your meal with a good quality Italian or Chilean red wine. A must in Baños.

Sergio Guevara, the chef of this small, unpretentious Italian restaurant with a cosy atmosphere, opened in 1996, prepares delicious food with fresh, local products. He welcomes you in a pleasant house, a little away from the town centre, at the beginning of the road that leads to Puyo. You will be able to taste his dishes on the terrace as well as inside and you will not be disappointed. Pizzas, pasta, lasagne, meat and fish, everything is excellent and prepared with good quality products. We highly recommend this establishment.

Those who like their breakfasts local and hearty will find themselves here. Prices are very affordable and the dishes are hearty. The coffee, made from local produce, is very good and goes perfectly with the famous Tigrillos and Bolons for those with a sweet tooth. Don't miss the maduro de la casa, a plantain dish seasoned with cheese sauce, grated cheese and chicharrones ! It can't get any more local than this. What's more, the welcome is very warm and you'll enjoy staying a while just to chat with the regulars.

Simply the best option if you're vegetarian or want to eat healthy vegetables in Baños. The food is super tasty and affordable. The Almuerzo comes with a delicious soup, fresh fruit juice, main course (huge portion) and fruit. The owner is very friendly and prepares all dishes to order - nothing is reheated here. Don't miss the traditional Burrito, which attracts locals and tourists alike thanks to its well-deserved reputation. The vegetable lasagne is also a must.

Comfortable sofas, colourful bar, original and classic decor, subdued lighting and a pool table. The perfect place to read, chat with friends and meet new people. Especially popular with foreigners. On football evenings, you will find all the aficionados on holiday in Baños! Homemade cakes and pastries, desserts, sandwiches, snacks. And the little extra is the selection of original beers on offer.

Friendly cafeteria open since 1996, close to the central park, offering a light menu of vegetarian dishes, pastas, tacos and breakfasts. Good coffee and zen-like background music. The place is really pretty, and it's great to stop in for a moment to rest or chat with other people. Some evenings, films are shown. You can also swap books for new reading material. In short, an ideal place to meet other travelers interested in the country's culture, which is omnipresent here. Vegetarians will love it too.

Ivan manages this good table of Ecuadorian cuisine with a welcoming decor. One of the specialities is the roasted cuy, to be tasted with good Chilean wine. Breakfast is plentiful and rich. Excellent service and pleasant atmosphere.

Marian's French and Ecuadorian cuisine is so popular that you often have to queue. It is therefore advisable to reserve a table. The restaurant is nestled at the end of a flowery garden where you can sit down; unless you prefer a table by the fireplace... Warm decor, excellent meats and fairly reasonable prices for the quality of the dishes on offer. An address to remember and return to.
