Site with two stones, a place where ritual ceremonies dedicated to the ancient Mayan gods are performed and offerings made.
Isolated, El Baúl is still very frequented by the inhabitants of the surroundings. They practice ritual ceremonies in honor of the ancient Mayan gods and make offerings of flowers, alcohol and corn. Two stones make up the site: a large block covered with inscriptions and various motifs and a half-buried stele that represents a head with huge eyes and a frozen smile. Its small size makes the believers use it as an altar. The pieces that were excavated here are exposed a little further north, in the eponymous museum.
