MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO EL BAÚL

Housed in a private finca north of the city, near the eponymous archaeological site, this interesting museum displays several relics from the El Bilbao, El Baúl and El Castillo sites, which constitute a unique blend of pre-Hispanic archaeology. The sculptures at El Baúl include masterpieces such as these two huge stone statues with inscriptions. They represent a Mayan warrior from the year 37 and a 1.5 meter high jaguar respectively.
