The town of Baturité, founded in 1745, was one of the first to fight slavery. Located inland, it is another Cearà, where the drought seems to have less of a hold.Don't miss the pelourinho (pillory where slaves were punished), the Matriz de N.S. de Palma church, the Comendador Ananias Arruda museum and the Palácio Entre Rios and the beautiful Jesuit monastery. Some thermal baths in the surroundings. The temperature is pleasant, sometimes humid, and the nights can be cool. Ideal, therefore, to make a stopover after long sessions on the sun-drenched beaches of the Nordeste Cearense coastline.
