DANNEMANN CHARUTOS

The Reconcavô Valley is famous for its cocoa production, but also for its cigars, which are known all over the world. The "Danneman Charutos" factory is certainly one of the main attractions of São Felix. The production is now mechanized, but you can still see the manual making of cigars (probably the best in the country) by women who roll these charutos by hand in an old-fashioned workshop. The rest of the building now houses a permanent exhibition of modern art. Interesting.
