This mythical jazz bar, with its quality programming, was the first club in the state to be owned by an African-American.

This mythical jazz bar was founded in 1947. Joseph L. Walcott, its founder, originally from Barbados, had immigrated to the United States thirty years earlier, passing through Ellis Island in New York. He was the first African-American from New England to become a club owner. A real success story, in short! The room is tiny but still full. The programming is of quality (blues on Monday; funk on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday; Latin jazz on Thursday, jazz on Friday and Saturday) and the cocktails are to die for!
