As its name suggests, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument is a superb set of vermilion-red cliffs, framing a vast plain in which the Colorado River has carved its furrow, the Marble Canyon. The site covers an area of 1 189 km2, where the California condor can be observed. Above all, one comes here for the unreal Wave, a formation that seems to be shaped by hand and that is reminiscent of the landscapes of Valley of Fire State Park, in Nevada.
