This is Scotland's oldest surviving castle, and the MacLeods have lived here since the 13th century. Their motto is Hold Fast! ("Hold Fast!"). The family has never abandoned the building, nor its rock, and certainly not the Fairy Flag, an old piece of cloth that has been the source of many an adventure.
The tour includes the castle, where you can see various artifacts from the MacLeod clan, as well as the bedrooms, drawing rooms and dungeons, and the gardens, created in the 19th century. These have become one of the largest horticultural gardens in Scotland.Did you know? This review was written by our professional authors.

Big disappointment that this castle of the Mac Leod clan. We worth a visit it, having read in the guides that had been restored with cement, but curiosity porta, because it is not visible road. We therefore paid the price, see a castle ugly exterior. Indeed, the catering are disastrous. The gardens are pretty, the castle is furnished, since still inhabited, but the people inside are really friendly, and take pleasure in telling us the stories of the castle and furniture.
