The Normandy Victory Museum tells the story of the Battle of the Hedges, which took place just after D-Day in the English Channel. Through a moving scenography focusing on the daily lives of soldiers and civilians alike, visitors are invited to discover this sometimes little-known period in history. The sets, sounds, archive images, the possibility of touching the objects, the testimonies, everything is there to plunge you into the universe of the time and understand their lives. A few figures to give you an idea of the museum’s scope: 27 displays, dozens of vehicles, a plane, a barge, no fewer than 15,000 period objects, all measuring no less than 2,000m2. It’s hard to choose, but one of the highlights is a section dedicated to the role of women in the war. Children are welcome, and there are even dedicated tours. Additional possibilities include rides in a genuine Dodge (period military vehicle): prior reservation is essential. Note that temporary exhibitions are organized here, such as the one dedicated to Jean Gabin, running until the end of May 2024, and retracing the artist’s involvement in wartime. Finally, as part of the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, the Normandy Victory Museum will be the focus of numerous events, exhibitions, conferences and other events. All in all, a place that’s neither lacking in resources nor interest, and one of our favorites.

Discover the history of the Battle of the Hedges, which took place in the summer of 1944, just after the landing. A lesser known story but just as decisive for the future of the country and the victory.
Our accessible and family-friendly museum offers you a journey through twenty ultra-realistic scenes with sound in a unique atmosphere. Nearly 10,000 historical and authentic objects are presented to you as well as military vehicles.
Your visit will be immersive. Accessible to all, it is lively and you will appreciate being able to touch certain objects and climb aboard certain vehicles. The most passionate will be able to complete their visit by a baptism in an armoured vehicle. Apart from the health crisis, it is possible to take part in more physical activities such as the obstacle course (opened by the actors of Band of Brothers).
Outside, a collection of vehicles is visible for free as well as a model of C47 Thunderbolt, since the museum is located on the runway of the historic American airfield, the A10 airfield.
Finally, you will enjoy a delicious meal in the atmosphere of the museum, at our partner, the A10 canteen restaurant which welcomes you in its vintage Liberty decor.
