MONFORT CASTLE
Late XVᵉ - early XVIᵉ castle, partly ruined, David Austin rose garden unique in the department.
This Renaissance château, listed on the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques (Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments), retains some fine remains, including a finely sculpted watchtower and a dovecote. The Maison de Garde, the porter's house and the barn, restored by volunteer workcamps, host temporary exhibitions and a permanent exhibition: "The Village of the 1930s", depicting old trades and rural life with animated miniatures. This enchanting setting is home to a magnificent rose garden. A retrospective retraces the history of the restoration work (1981-1988).
