The Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel marathon is one of the biggest French marathons and welcomes 3,000 to 4,000 runners each year between Brittany and Normandy. On the programme is an exceptional course along the bay with, always in the line of sight, the majestic Mont-Saint-Michel.

: the marathon of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel is organized on the weekend of May 31. For three days, the whole bay lives to the rhythm of the marathon planet and welcomes running enthusiasts from all over France, but also from abroad.

registration date: this is a very popular marathon (2,878 finishers in 2014), so it is advisable to register as soon as possible given the number of runners who come to Mont-Saint-Michel each year. However, the registration deadline is set on the day of the race itself when the quota of 5,000 runners has been reached.

Maximum number of participants: A maximum of 5,000 runners can compete in the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel Marathon. The Mont-Saint-Michel marathon is certainly a real logistical machine, but the festive and family atmosphere is preserved.

new in 2013: the 1st edition of La Malouine, a 6 km race in Saint Malo, reserved exclusively for women. During this weekend, the Sauternes marathon takes place.

The courseinterest

: between Normandy and Brittany, the Mont-Saint-Michel bay marathon is the only marathon where the finish line is already visible from the start line. On the course, the runners follow the coast, cross the polders and leave Brittany by crossing the Couesnon to arrive at the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel. A great reward for marathon

Difficulty: the course is rather flat and pleasant, for a large part of the course the runners run along the seaside. The departure is given on the port of La Houle, from the town of Cancale.

Elevation gain: this is a rolling marathon accessible to all. The race has only a small positive difference in altitude at the 2 nd km. The rest is relatively flat and conducive to performance.
