The best preserved Roman amphitheatre in the country, built around 90 AD and now covered by grass. The arena was oval in shape, with eight entrances. Up to 6,000 spectators gathered on the stands more than 2,000 years ago to watch gladiatorial battles. Un amphi qui ne vaut pas Rome, mais qui complète parfaitement une visite sur Caerleon et ses origines Romaines.
Un peu à côté vous pourrez trouver d'autres vestiges du village à cette époque.
Si vous passez à l'office de tourisme vous pourrez acheter pour 0,50£ ou 1£ une brochure pour faire une ballade avec des informations.
