The port of Shimizu is located 20 km from Ashizuri-misaki Cape. The topology of the place makes it a natural port. The road between the port and the cape is beautiful, even unusual in Japan, with tropical vegetation and flora: lianas and banyan trees grow in the middle of a tormented landscape. The 70 km long coastline attracts many tourists to Tosashimizu every year. Obviously, renting a car is more than recommended, if not mandatory, to enjoy these remote areas, unless you undertake to discover Shikoku Island via its pilgrimage path. The road between the 37th and 38th temples passes through Tosashimizu.
