Located on Highway 89, 53 miles north of Zion National Park, 26 miles west of Bryce Canyon, and 10 miles from Red Canyon, Hatch is a tiny stopover town between the two parks, founded in 1872 (as Mammoth). The population of Hatch is less than 150 people. There are a few hotels, restaurants and a single gas station (located at the southern entrance of the town on Main Street). Nothing very exciting, but at least Hatch will allow you to take a well-deserved break after several hours of driving.
