The pins never stop turning to Zankou. Roasted chickens are cooked daily, for tasting on site or to take away. Tarna, shish kebab and falafel: whether hot or cold, Zankou chicken, seasoned with spices, is full of intense aromas. A good address for the gourmands in the small budget.

It is not the staff’s fault, but they are constantly behind on orders, drowning under an onslaught of impatient takeout drivers, and your food will be at least a half hour late for pickup (mine was a full hour late). There needs to be another Zankou on the west side—one that’s actually set up to handle the volume of takeout/ delivery orders that come in.
