CASTELLO DI FULCIGNANO
Castle built under the Swabian and Angevin rule, with an interesting garden.
Located on the southern outskirts of Galatone, Fulcignano Castle was built during the Swabian and Angevin periods. The ruins of this feudal castle are well worth a visit, despite their advanced state of abandonment, especially as they are located in a very pleasant, bucolic setting. The castle's irregular quadrilateral shape is surprising. The château also boasts an interesting garden, surrounded by ancient eight-metre-high ramparts enclosing an area 75 metres long and 49 metres wide. It has been owned by the commune since 2011.
