Former convent of the Celestine Fathers, now the seat of the provincial administration in Lecce
Today the seat of the provincial administration and the prefecture, this former convent of the Celestine Fathers (convento dei Celestini) was erected from 1549. The monks occupied the building for three centuries until Napoleon's suppression in 1807. Adjacent to the Basilica of Santa Croce, the long façade of the building, in Baroque style and richly decorated, is attributed to Giuseppe Zimbalo.
