Archaeological park exposing traces of life from the Neolithic to the Roman period
Coming to Gioia del Colle requires a visit and a walk in the archaeological park located five kilometres from the town. Here you will see the remains of an ancient settlement occupied from the 6th to the end of the 3rd century B.C. by the Peucetians, an Italic people from central Puglia. The foundations of the houses, the remains of the walls, the acropolis and the tombs can be identified. Traces of life from the Neolithic to the Roman period have also been discovered here.
