ŠPILJARI ШПИЉАРИ
This is the most popular trail at the moment. It starts from the locality of Špiljari/Шпильяри which means "caves". It reaches the viewpoint (Vidikovac/Видиковац). Start the climb once you're outside Kotor. With the Taraca restaurant behind you, you can begin.
Once you've arrived, a perfect Balkan landscape awaits you. At your back, a breathtaking view of the Bay of Kotor. Before your eyes, mountain farmers help themselves to their donkeys in an abandoned village. Kusturica couldn't have found a better location for his cinematic adventures. The place is quiet, the sound is clean, only the shepherd's donkey breaks the silence of the mountains. Once in the village, continue on to Café Jardana. From view to view, take all day to complete this hike. Even in winter, you'll meet lots of people. So it's a good idea to be on the safe side in case anything goes wrong. On the way back, don't forget to take a cab back to town.
