150 km from Cali and 20 km from La Unión, this pretty colonial village is the cultural and university center of the north of the department. Many writers, poets and other artists have made their home here. The famous Colombian painter and graphic artist Omar Rayo (1928-2010) founded a museum in his hometown that bears his name and houses a large part of his work. Roldanillo is also a famous site in the world of paragliding. The climatic conditions are among the best in the world for long flights, especially from the Montañuela hill, where international competitions of the discipline are regularly held.
