It was after a trip to Mongolia and the discovery of the yurt concept that Kati and Jyri created District Rovaniemi in 2020.
After a trip to Mongolia and the discovery of yurts, Kati and Jyri decided to create District Rovaniemi with Janne in 2020, just 20 min from the airport but far from the city lights. This project is the result of their desire to share their love of nature, culture and a unique experience. Sustainable homes, with all the comforts of a luxury room, in a modern Arctic ambiance. YURT WITH VIEW OF FOREST HILL
The hilltop yurt
This is a unique opportunity to sleep in the wilderness of the Arctic Circle. The cosy yurt is located 25 km from the center of Rovaniemi, at the top of a forested hill. The area is quiet and surrounded by beautiful nature. There are no roads leading up to the forest hill, so we'll take you there by mountain bike or snowmobile and help you get comfortable. There are no showers or toilets available, so you're truly in the middle of the wilderness. Telephone and wifi are available, so if you're feeling too quiet or lonely, you can get in touch with the outside world. The yurt is decorated with beautiful Scandinavian features, and it's warm even if it's cold outside. It's a place to reflect, relax and enjoy pure, simple things. We think it's something everyone should experience at least once in their lives!
If you'd like to experience the Finnish wooden sauna, this can be arranged for an additional charge. The sauna is located 5km from the yurt, and can be reached by snowmobile or mountain bike. The price of the trip is included in the price of the sauna.

The yurt district
This is a unique opportunity to sleep next to the magnificent river view of the Arctic Circle. The cosy and warm yurt is located 25 km from the center of Rovaniemi and right next to a large river. The yurt is decorated with beautiful Scandinavian features, and it's warm even when it's cold outside. It's a place to reflect, relax and enjoy pure, simple things. We think it's something everyone should experience at least once in their lives!
The yurts have glass roofs, so you can see the stars and northern lights as you relax in bed. Next to the yurts, we have a lovely outdoor open-fire grill where certain dishes can be grilled. The open fireplace is also perfect for stargazing and searching for the northern lights.
For your comfort, a new shower and toilet block is available close to the yurts. A wood-fired Finnish sauna can be heated for the evening on request. Additional charges apply for the sauna.
Telephone and WiFi are available, so if you're feeling too quiet or lonely, you can get in touch with the outside world.

District Rovaniemi Oy is a unique place to stay in the nature of Finnish Lapland, next to the river Ounasjoki. It offers five yurts that can accommodate 10-15 people. They have glass roofs, allowing you to see the stars and the northern lights while relaxing in bed. A wood-fired Finnish sauna can be used for the evening upon request. You can also opt for a cozy yurt located at the top of the forest hill. It is decorated with beautiful Scandinavian elements and even if it is cold outside you will be warm inside. Note that a telephone and a wifi connection are available in these yurts. An ideal address for a moment of reflection, relaxation and pleasure!

Nous n'aurions jamais eu l'habitude de séjourner dans un logement avec une salle de bain commune, mais d'après les commentaires précédents, ce logement est moderne et extrêmement propre. Le WiFi est également fiable.
