In Kuopio's covered market, it's a stand that doesn't look like much, but looks like a treasure when you taste what you find. Irène Partanen's bakery (Kalakukkoleipomo in VO) offers a fine selection of meat-filled turnovers (Lihapiirakka), delicious cakes (Pikkipulla) and other golden wafers that are a specialty of North Karelia (Riisipiirakka). Hard to pronounce but delicious to devour. Exceptional value for money!
