SANT'ANNA CHURCH
A church as if lost in the heart of the island of Kumlinge, like a treasure you discover when you push open the door: that's the description that seems most apt. Indeed, from the outside, there's nothing to suggest that this modest stone church boasts exceptional wall paintings dating from the late fifteenth century (and which were cleaned and restored around the 1960s). Encircling the nave, they offer a striking and unexpected spectacle. Other pieces, such as the altars and mortarboard, are less spectacular but just as interesting.
