This beautiful building dating from the second half of the 4 000 th century has a collection of pieces, including manuscripts, autograph, letters and paintings signed by Taras Shevchenko. Not far from the Maïdan Nezalezhnosti, there is also a beautiful wooden house where the poet lived. Today, this house is a museum on the work of Shevchenko (Prov. Chevtchenka 8 A, open daily from 10 am to 18 pm except Mondays).
