This 61 m column was hérigée in the middle of Maïdan Nezalezhnosti in 2001 to celebrate the 10 years of independence of the country. Built in the style of Ukrainian Baroque, the statue of the pagan goddess Berehinia-Oranta, the protector of the home and the family, is at its top. Dressed in Ukrainian national dress and tendant a branch of viorne, a symbol of Ukraine. It is the highest monument in the country.
