This beautiful fortified house is the best preserved in Gjirokastra. Guided tour by the owners' family.
This fortified house (Shtëpia e Skëndulit) is the best preserved in the city. Built at the turn of the 18th century, then modified in 1827, it was returned to the Skënduli family, after having housed a museum during the communist period. It was the richest house in Gjirokastra with nine fireplaces, six bathrooms, four hammams, twelve rooms, 44 doors and 64 windows. Note, in the beautiful vaulted kitchen, that all the utensils, including the coffee roasting machine, were used until the 2000s by the owners.

Si vous avez la chance de visiter avec le propriétaire ,le plus c'est qu'il parle français et qu'il met vraiment du cœur à vous faire découvrir cette maison qui est dans sa famille depuis 9 générations Le prix est modique 200 lekes

Très belle maison traditionnelle à ne pas manquer si vous êtes de passage à Gjirokastër. La salle des mariés est magnifique.
