Media Tirana

This daily Albanian newspaper, written in English, is a good way to keep up to date with the country's news. Relatively independent, with a free website, it was co-founded in 1994 by the influential French entrepreneur Julien Roche, who has lived in Albania since 1982. He is the head of the ADA media group, which owns TV Klan, the country's second most-watched TV channel. Albanian Daily News covers all subjects, but does not really investigate corruption or the mafia in depth.

This weekly English-language newspaper, published on Fridays, presents Albanian and international news from an Albanian angle. Featuring a free English-language news website, it has adopted an independent editorial line since its inception in 2005. It covers a wide range of subjects: politics, the environment, the economy, culture... But while it tackles the country's problems (corruption, mafia, pollution...), it doesn't really carry out in-depth investigations. Its headquarters also houses a bookshop selling English-language books on Albania.
