LIBRARI ADRION
Read moreFounded in 1999, Adrion is the country's largest bookshop. It sells books, of course, but also road maps of the country and the Balkans, stationery, electronics, games, toys and souvenirs. The foreign books section is well stocked with English-language works (bestsellers, Albanian history, etc.), as well as French-Albanian dictionaries and the French versions of several novels by Ismail Kadaré. Please note that there is an annex at the airport with a more limited selection.
TOPTANI SHOPPING CENTER
Read moreSince 2017, the powerful Toptani family, which ruled Tirana from the 17th to the 19th century, has given its name to a huge, futuristic shopping mall in the heart of the city. The white building designed by Dutch architect Winy Maas houses around a hundred stores on eight levels, including international clothing and footwear brands (same prices as elsewhere in Europe), jewellers, opticians, telephony, a pharmacy and more. Plus cafés, restaurants, banks and underground parking.
TULLA RECORD STORE
Read moreThis is one of the very few record shops in Albania. Tulla Record Store is located in the "Commune de Paris" (Komuna e Parisit) district. You'll find CDs and vinyls by international artists, as well as Albanian and Kosovar rock and electro productions. You'll find albums by BiCalko, Por-No, Blerta Kosova, Gillespie and Shpat Deda. The venue is also a café, cultural center and bookshop. Here you can browse through a beautifully illustrated book devoted to the works of Onufri.
