This small village in Southeast Alaska has kept an authentic charm, preserved from the cruise ships that cannot reach it. It is however accessible by roads from Mitkof Island by car, by boat (the ferry terminal is nearby) or by plane. Nicknamed "Little Norway" thanks to its founder Peter Buschmann at the end of the last century, it is characterized by many Norwegian influences. The language of the founder was spoken until recently. Its natural scenery with its fjords, its sites such as the Walhalla Drakkar and the Sons of Norway Hall (a building with Norwegian colors), testify to this strong identity
