Camping near Chilkoot Lake and the Chilkoot River, for an exceptional stay with bear watching in Haines.
The place is much more crowded than the campground south of town. Chilkoot Lake and the Chilkoot River provide exceptional bear viewing opportunities. Almost every evening, during the salmon migration, the majority of the brown bears meet to look for their food. For those who couldn't sleep knowing that bears are passing between the tents and other camper vans, it's best to change location!

Super camping offrant des infrastructures minimales, avec des grands emplacements, parfaitement situé pas très loin de la rivière Chilkoot pour avoir une chance d'observer ours et aigles (de préférence le soir ou tôt le matin). Possibilité d'y aller et d'en repartir en stop. Système du premier arrivé premier servi donc ne pas perdre de temps à la sortie du ferry. Dommage qu'il soit impossible de réserver les kayaks directement sur place ; tout se fait en appelant les compagnies touristiques
